Freelance DTP Specialists

Lucyol is always on the lookout for professional and quality-conscious freelance DTP specialists. We accept only highly qualified professionals, who can meet the highest quality standards. The tasks we will ask you include:
  • Checking page layout against the original
  • Designing page layout when the source file is not available
  • Localizing graphics and images
  • Capturing and editing screenshots and images
  • Generating tables of contents and indices
  • Creating and arranging flowcharts or graphics
  • Generating PDF files
To apply as a freelance DTP specialist for Lucyol, the following criteria are fundamental:
  • Fluency in English (as source text and instructions are generally in English)
  • Proven expertise and background in graphic design and/or DTP
  • Advanced knowledge (+ availability) of major graphics and desktop-publishing applications, such as FrameMaker, PageMaker, InDesign, Quark Xpress, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, Freehand, Flash, etc.
  • Knowledge of typography standards of various languages
  • Basic knowledge of various European languages is an advantage
  • Basic knowledge of Trados® is an advantage
  • Unconditional commitment to quality and deadlines
As a second step, if your application meets the above criteria, and regardless of your experience, you will receive one or more DTP tests, depending on the software you own. These should allow us to test your knowledge of the different software, and also your ability to produce a document that is perfectly matched to the original. Our DTP department will review your tests and decide whether or not to add your name to the database.
