At Lucyol, we are passionate about language quality. Our internal language expertise covers French. Although we work with a few selected in-country partners (in Europe and Asia), we focus primarily on adapting highly technical contents and products to the needs of the French market.

  French

French is one of the world's most widely spoken languages with approximately 265 million speakers. It is a complex language, with very strict rules defined by the "Académie Française", the official French authority on the usage, vocabulary, and grammar of the French language. Particular attention needs to be paid to the quality of any translation into French (even highly technical texts), as many French readers regard poor quality documentation with contempt. A single language error is often enough for an entire translation to be considered poor quality, which can have a disastrous impact on your image. It is therefore not uncommon for customers to be much more demanding for French than for any other language, and metrics (i.e. daily output) are generally different (up to 25% less).

Therefore, French is often selected as a pilot language on multilingual localization projects, because French customers are acknowledged to be especially demanding when assessing the quality of a product. Quality-conscious customers choose Lucyol for French because of our team's unmatched ability to identify and report problems in the source material at the very start of a project. Corrections can then be implemented in the source files before translation begins in other languages.
